Mia Kylie was born premature on August 13, 2007 at 31 weeks.
She was diagnosed with SBS, or Short Bowel Syndrome, and then
transferred to Chicago. In Chicago a team of specialists are
monitoring Mia and helping her grow to be ready to receive a
bowel transplant. |

Mia has now received her bowel
transplant. She is now in recovery on many different
medicines. She will be on anti-rejection medicines for
the rest of her life, to help her body accept the new organ.
